Hugh Jackman & Anne Hathaway’s Throats Are Les Miserables!

hugh-jackman-anne-hathaway-sore-throats.jpg

What?! The cast of the Les Miserables film are singing LIVE on set???? But no one will be able to hear Anne Hathaway's sweet serenade or Hugh Jackman's crooning if their voice boxes give out!

While we ADORE the authenticity of singing live for every take, those are some CRAZY intense vocals being done over and over and over…

One source says about the epic filming process:

What a lovely tribute to the people who started it all!

Colm Wilkinson and Frances Ruffelle, who played Jean Valjean and Eponine in the original London production of Les Misérables, have been tapped to appear in the currently in-production film adaptation of the musical!

Wilkinson will reportedly play the Bishop of Digne, who inspires Hugh Jackman's Valjean to get his shiz together, and Ruffelle will cameo as a featured whore in the musical number Lovely Ladies!

Paul Bettany Cast Opposite Hugh Jackman In Les Misérables Movie!

paul-bettany-considered-for-part-in-les-miserables-movie

And the inspired casting just keeps on coming!

We reported last week that Hugh Jackman was in negotiations to star in director Tom Hooper's upcoming musical adaptation of Les Misérables as protagonist Jean Valjean, and now, we've gotten word that Paul Bettany may be taking on the role of the film's villain, Inspector Javert!

Sources close to production say that no deal is in place, but the actor has read for the role and even performed a few songs as part of his audition!

Nice! We know he's a MORE than capable actor, and we imagine if he can hold a tune, then he'll be a shoe-in!

This is going to be AH-MAZING! We cannot wait to hear who will be snagged for the rest of the roles!

What do U think?? Are U looking forward to a new Les Miz movie??

The King's Speech Director In Negotiations For Les Miz

the kings speech director closing deal for les miz

Last month, we were excited to learn that The King's Speech director Tom Hooper is up for the new Les Miz musical movie.

We thought it was a great idea, and now we're pumped to hear that negotiations have begun for him to sign on to direct the new film version of the Victor Hugo novel/Broadway musical.

If done right, this could DEFINITELY be an Oscar contender!

We'll look forward to hearing confirmation on Tom as the Les Miz director soon.

Do U think A Tom Hooper-directed Les Miserables could be a Best Picture contender?

The King's Speech Director To Do Les Miz?

kings speech director may take on les miz

Back in October, the musical version of Les Misérables celebrated its quarter century birthday.

Now, it looks like a new film version of the Victor Hugo novel/Broadway musical is in the works, and The King's Speech director Tom Hooper may take on the project.

Unlike 1998's non-musical Les Miserables film which starred Liam Neeson, this version is being "conceived as a big-budget musical."

We think this is a great idea! We fully support exposing a new generation to Les Miz…especially if Tom Hooper works on the project. He's definitely got the directing skillz to pull it off.

Are U excited for more Les Miz? Do U think the King's Speech director is right for the project?
