Find Out Why Jennifer Lawrence Walked Away From The Rosie Project Even After Offering To Cut Her Fee For The Part!
It's a classic case of "you snooze, you lose."
Now, we're learning why the 25-year-old bailed on the Sony romantic comedy.
Right from the get-go, studio chairman Tom Rothman made it clear he didn't want to shell out $20 million on Jen, which is what Sony had just offered the blonde beauty for her part in Passengers.
But because the Kentucky native really wanted to work with director Richard Linklater, she agreed to take a pay cut for the role.
However, it wasn't the smaller paycheck that caused the Hunger Games star to bow out. A source revealed that the negotiations took too long, and the actress had gotten frustrated, saying:
"Rothman was doing a lot of grinding on The Rosie Project, and it took its toll. If it had been done more quickly, it wouldn't have fallen apart."
And although Richard's contract had been ironed out pretty quickly, he stepped away from the project when the young celeb did, because she was the one who pursued him and got him on board.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with this film, now that it's lost its leading lady and director.
