Tommy Mottola Tells All!

Former head of Sony Music, Tommy Mottola, will release The Last Starmaker in 2012, a memoir about his rise to the top.

A friend of Mottola said:

"It's time to tell his story. The music industry is virtually over. Cream will always rise to the top. But the days of starmaking are over. Kids today only want one song, not the album, and they don't know who the artist is."

He will reveal how Walter Yetnikoff brought him into CBS Records, and then turned on Tommy after he self-destructed and lost his job.

And he's also set the record straight that he was not jealous and possessive over Mariah Carey during their marriage. He recently told a friend, "150 [Carey] albums later, my answer is, 'Kiss my behind.' "

According to a source, Mariah came from a "confusing upbringing. Sudden success is enough to intoxicate anybody and to distort the perception of anybody and anything around them."

He will also tell the story of how he signed Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez and then found a duet for them, which began their love affair.

A chapter of the book explains how he strong-armed the Grammys to have Ricky Martin perform, telling producers, "We're going to pull everyone off the show unless Ricky gets to sing."

Amazing. Can't wait to hear the juicy details!

Yes, that's right!

An all-new Michael Jackson album will be released this November.

According to Jackson's manager Frank DiLeo, Jackson had more than 100 completed and unreleased songs that were kept in his vault.

Former Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola said last year that Michael "over-recorded" every time he step foot in the studio, recording "anywhere from 20 to 30 songs for each album. Any of them could have been as big a hit as the ones that came out."

Many of the unreleased songs were recorded during the '80s, in which the King of Pop created some of his best work such as Thriller and Bad. He also collaborated with Akon, Will.i.am, and Ne-Yo before his death.

The album will feature 10 unreleased songs and will be first in a 10-project, seven-year deal the Jackson estate has with Sony Music. The $250 million deal will also include reissues of Jackson's classic albums, a new greatest hits set, a DVD collection, and even a karaoke and dance video game titled Michael Jackson: The Video Game.

We're excited about hearing the unreleased tracks, but is the Jackson estate going a little too far with the MJ merchandise? What do U think?
