Darren Criss Is Leaving Hedwig And The Angry Inch & Will Be Replaced By The First Non-White Actor To Play The Role In NYC!

That's right guys and gals, he's back!

For the first time in over a decade Taye Diggs will be returning to Broadway as the star in the Tony Award-winning hit Hedwig and the Angry Inch!

On July 19, the current star, Darren Criss, is set to exit the production at which point Diggs will take over headlining. He's officially signed on for a 12-week stint with the show, starring opposite Rebecca Naomi Jones and he'll start July 22, 2015!

The show revolves around a German emigrant, Hedwig, who is the victim of a botched sex-change operation, as she embarks on her journey to find love and stardom. The revival play — which originally opened as an off-Broadway production in 1998 — relaunched last year with Neil Patrick Harris as its star and ended up winning four Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical.

Elizabeth Wilson dies at 94

So incredibly sad.

Actress Elizabeth Wilson, known for her work both on stage and screen, has died.

Elizabeth was recognized for her roles in movies like The Graduate and 9 to 5, but got her start back on Broadway in the 1950s. Her career spanned almost 70 years, and earned her a Tony Award for the 1972 drama Sticks and Bones.

The actress passed away in New Haven, CT Saturday at the age of 94. She leaves behind a sister, Mary Muir Wilson, who she had been living with.

Elizabeth was nominated for multiple Tonys during her time in the industry, but she also received an Emmy nod for her work in the NBC miniseries Nutcracker: Money, Madness and Murder.

The Tony Awards are coming, and they're pretty star-studded!

The nominees were announced by Bruce Willis and Mary Louise Parker, appropriate given their RED costar Helen Mirren is nominated for Best Leading Actress for her role in The Audience!

Other movie and TV stars with nods include Bradley Cooper for The Elephant Man, Carey Mulligan for Skylight, and Elisabeth Moss for The Heidi Chronicles.

​Jennifer Hudson Is Ready To Make Her Broadway Debut In The Color Purple!

It's about time this girl made it to Broadway!

Jennifer Hudson is ready to hit the big time in the fall when she makes her Broadway debut in the production of A Color Purple.

The production will be directed and designed by John Doyle, who got a director's Tony for Sweeney Todd in 2006. He opened his version of The Color Purple in London in 2013.

The most exciting part about this announcement? This could be her chance at an EGOT! Jennifer already has a Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe… so now she just needs a Tony!
