Sharks are one of the most interesting animals in the world.

They're insanely interesting, as long as they are admired from a distance!

And we definitely mean more than an arm's length away!

Here is a top ten list of the most surprising facts about sharks:

"1. Sharks generally have about 45 to 50 teeth – but that’s just the “front row” teeth. They also have, on average, as many as seven replacement rows of teeth behind the front row, ready to move into place if a tooth is damaged or falls out. With all the action a shark’s mouth sees throughout its lifetime, an individual might go through as many as 30,000 teeth.

2. Even though we associate sharks with big, sharp chompers, some species barely need their teeth. Whale sharks and basking sharks, two of the largest species, are both filter feeders and have numerous, tiny teeth – a whale shark might have up to 300 rows of teeth .

3. While sharks don’t use sounds to communicate, they do rely on body language. If you’re snorkeling or diving, it’s good to be aware of the body language sharks use to communicate that they’re uneasy. Hunched backs, lowered pectoral fins, sharp movements (in zig-zag or back-and-forth patterns), and diving down to touch the bottom are all good indicators that a shark is feeling uncomfortable.

4. Some large sharks have dramatically longer lifespans than small sharks. For instance, whale sharks (which generally range from 18 to 32 feet/5.5 to 10 meters in length) can live up to 100 years, while the smooth dogfish (with an average length between 2 and 4 feet/0.6 and 1.2 meters) might only live for 16 years."

Which pertains especially to animals!!

So to help all of the humans help all of the animals, we've found a list from the ASCPA on how we can all do our part to effectively stop animal cruelty!!!

Here are the top ten ways to prevent animal cruelty:

"1. Know who to call to report animal cruelty. We're lucky here at the ASPCA in New York City because we have Humane Law Enforcement Agents who have the power to investigate and arrest perpetrators of animal cruelty in the state of New York. But every state and every town are different. In some areas, you may have to rely on the police department to investigate animal cruelty; in others, you may have to contact local animal control or another municipal agency. If you aren't sure where to report cruelty, please visit our Report Animal Cruelty section.

2. Get to know and look out for the animals in your neighborhood. By being aware, you're more likely to notice, for example, that the dog next door who was once hefty has lost weight rapidly—a possible indicator of abuse.

3. Make the call. Without phone calls from concerned citizens who report cruelty in their neighborhoods, we wouldn't know about most instances of animal abuse. It all comes from the public, it all starts with YOU—that's why it's so important to keep your eyes and ears open."

That Miley Cyrus!

We know she considers herself a free spirit these days, but does she have to apply the same sentiment to her tittays?!

The pop star is so hard at work on her new album that she apparently forgot to throw a bra on before she left the house yesterday, and was later spotted at a West Hollywood recording studio letting the world know just that in a see-through top!

They should just go ahead and change their name from Maroon 5 to Maroon Number One!!!

Adam Levine & his marooners have scored their third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with their deliciously addictive song called One More Night.

Previous Maroon 5 songs that made the No. 1 cut were Makes Me Wonder and Moves Like Jagger which featured Christina Aguilera.

We know the top baby names last year were Jacob for werewolves boys and Sophie for girls, but what are parents loving this year?

Well, so far it's looking like one boy name and one girl name are both running wild in popularity.

The boys' name? Thomas. Maybe H-wood hunks like Tom Cruise and Tom Hardy have inspired this trend?

The top girls' name? Amelia. Beautiful name, but that sure did come out of nowhere! The same place that Amelia Earhart disappeared to…

Here are some other names that are proving to be popular - for boys, there seems to be a return to more traditional names such as Joshua, Sam, Freddie, Liam, and Henry.

Girls are sticking with a few fan favorites such as Bella and Lily, while Charlotte, Isla, Eva, and Phoebe are also gaining numbers.
