Ellen And Neil Patrick Harris Reenact Best Picture Nominees!

This is so great! Ellen did a FLAWLESS Jeff Bridges in True Grit! LOLz.

Check out the video (above) of Ellen and Neil Patrick Harris reenacting some of this year's Best Picture Nominees.

We're very impressed, although we would have loved it if they had done Toy Story 3.

NPH as a fabulous, ascot-wearing Ken doll? Yes please!

The Toys Are Back! First Images Released From Upcoming Toy Story Short Film

first toy story short film images released first toy story short film images released 2

Toy Story 3 MAY have been the final feature film in the series, but we have definitely not seen the end of Woody, Buzz, and the gang.

We'll be seeing them at the Oscars, and we'll also see them in Hawaiian Vacation, a six minute Toy Story short to premiere before Cars 2 when it's released on June 24. The first images from the short have been released (above).

Here's what director Gary Rydstrom had to say about his short film:

'Woody becomes kind of like what's-his-name on Love BoatCaptain Stubing!”

Sounds like fun! We're glad that the Toy Story crew is sticking around, but not in more full length films.

After the powerful way that Toy Story 3 ended, we'd say short films are the right venue for these characters. Wouldn't want to ruin the integrity of the series by making more unnecessary sequels.

Are U excited for Toy Story short films?

Go Behind The Scenes At Pixar…And Beyond!

Filed under: Film FlickersAwardzTech TalkPerezTVBusiness Blitz

SO cool! WE WANT TO GO TO THERE!

Check out the video (above) which gives a rare, behind the scenes look at the magical Pixar Studios!

Absolutely fascinating! It's amazing how much work goes on just to make Woody's lips move in Toy Story 3.

We love this, and we hope that Pixar gets some well-deserved recognition from the Academy this year!

Do U think Pixar/Toy Story 3 deserves some Oscar love?

Ricky Gervais Gets His Blog On, Defends Himself

ricky gervais defends himself via blog

Ricky Gervais has gone to his blog to defend his Golden Globes hosting performance.

As we've said before, you get exactly what you pay for with Ricky. It'd be pretty naive to hire him and expect the comedian to play it safe.

Here's what Ricky had to say on his blog in his defense:

"Obviously the rumour that the organisers stopped me going out on stage for an hour is rubbish. All the same conspiracy theories as last year too…'so and so was offended'…'hasn't been invited back yet'…exactly the same as last time. 'Paul McCartney was furious'…no he wasn't. And nor was Tim Allen and Tom Hanks. I was drinking with them after."

"I did every link I was scheduled to do. The reason why the gaps were uneven is because when I got the rundown I was allowed to choose who I presented to, [and I chose] the spots that I had the best gags for."

"I enjoyed the Globes more this year. I think I had better gags. More along the lines of the Mel Gibson one last year."

We believe U, Ricky! Why would Tim Allen and Tom Hanks take offense, anyway?

Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks…enough said, and Tim Allen was in Toy Story 3…he's doing just fine for himself!

Do U think celebs are legitimately angry with Ricky Gervais?

Seems like a lot of ladies (and gentlemen) are getting R-Patz for Christmas.

Although it only arrived in stores on Friday at midnight, Twihards purchased 3 million DVDs and Blu-ray discs of Eclipse in just two days.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Knight and Day and Toy Story 3 followed in sales, but only sold about 30% as many units as Eclipse.

Pretty impressive.

Disney Going For The Best Picture Win With Toy Story 3!

disney pushing toy story 3 for best picture

Early last month, we learned that Disney was going to push Toy Story 3 for Best Picture, and now it looks like they're moving full steam ahead with their efforts.

Here's what Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross had to say about it:

"We’re going for the Best Picture win. We wanted to have the best movie and the reviews have clearly said that and it’s the number one box office hit of the year so I’m not sure why we would not go for it all."

As part of their AWESOME advertising campaign to promote Toy Story 3 as Best Picture, they're going to have ads wherein characters from TS3 re-enact famous images from previous Oscar winners.

SO cool!

Award-winning films they plan to enact in their ads include West Side Story, On The Waterfront, Shakespeare in Love, Silence of the Lambs, Titanic, Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, and Forrest Gump.

Disney plans to release as many as 20 different ads in their effort to get the word out there.

Here's more from Rich Ross:

"The theory is pretty simple for us. It's thrilling that there is a separate category for animation and that allows animated movies to be recognized but for some reason an animated film has never gotten Best Picture and I always wondered was there not an appetite? We decided this year we have the biggest and best reviewed film of the year. If not this year, and not this movie, when?"

And more:

"As far as 'Up' last year it’s not surprising but I think the strategy is you go for Best Picture and as a fallback you end up as Best Animated Feature. And I guess I always thought that was not confident. With this movie we wanted to come up with a campaign that kept our aspirations clear but at the same time used a tongue in cheek approach. It's all to recognize the quandary which is that no animated picture had won Best Picture, so we used only Best Picture images to reflect that. I feel very confident we have a movie everybody loves and I want to make sure with our support and our campaign that people don’t feel the consolation prize is the appropriate prize for a movie like Toy Story 3. I think people will look at the ads and feel it's very Pixar and very Disney. At the same time it’s very clear. Toy Story 3 is a Best Picture. Vote for it. Please.”

We continue to fully support your efforts, Disney! It'd be very cool to see history made at this year's Oscars with Toy Story 3 being the first animated feature to win Best Picture.

We wish you the absolute best of luck, bbs!

Do U support Disney's campaign for Toy Story 3 to win Best Picture?
