Barbara Walters is a living legend.

She's been around the journalism block and back. There is no messing with this woman. The least she deserves is respect and common decency.

So imagine our shock when Trayvon Martin's killer made an outrageous, last-minute demand in exchange for an interview AFTER Babz already flew down to Florida for him.

According to her, not only did George Zimmerman show up in a t-shirt, he actually had the audacity of making STEEP demands. Being such a class act, she wouldn't elaborate on The View. But sources confirm he wanted ABC to compensate him for a month's stay at a hotel.

WHA-WHA-WHATTT!?!

But Thursday, Barbara made sure to put him in his place when he and his attorney called into The View for live publicity an "apology" interview.

Babz got 'em on the phone and told them — on air — she would not agree to another interview at the moment because she refused to be rude to her scheduled guests. If they wanted another one, they could go through the whole process again.

SNAP, SNAP! GET 'EM, BABZ! GET 'EM!

Oh and in case you forgot, Zimmerman recently said he wouldn't change a thing if he could go back in time and spare the teen's life.

Looks like the Trayvon Martin case has taken yet another surprising turn…

George Zimmerman, the man charged with the murder of 17-year-old Trayvon, has recently been released on bail.

At around midnight on Sunday, Zimmerman was seen leaving the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in Sanford, Florida, with his destination unknown. Zimmerman can’t hide for long, though — authorities have fit him with a GPS tracking device.

At his bond hearing on Friday, the bond had been set at $150,000, with Zimmerman’s family coming up with $15,000, the 10% needed in cash, to bail him out.

During the trial, Zimmerman spoke out to Trayvon’s family, saying:
