President Barack Obama announced yesterday that he feels the U.S. has "largely achieved its goals in Afghanistan," and he'll be expediting the process of pulling out troops from the country.

Details About Osama Bin Laden's Death And Burial.

Wow. Truly such a historic day.

Now that it's been confirmed that after a nearly-ten year search, Osama bin Laden was found and killed by American troops, new details are emerging about his death.

The terrorist was located inside a large military compound in Abbottabad, an hour north of Islamabad, with no internet or phone connection. According to sources, American operatives have known about his location since last summer, and have been strategizing their plan of attack since then.

Finally, they descended upon him yesterday, and he was said to have "resisted the assault force" by using a woman as a shield against the attack and later with an automatic weapon. Special Forces Navy Seals then shot him through the head, finally killing him.

One of his sons, two couriers, and the aforementioned woman were also killed during the 40-minute raid.

In accordance with Islamic law, his body has been buried at sea.

Our thoughts are with all of the people who lost someone in the 9/11 attacks, as well as all of the innocent lives lost yesterday during the raid.

May they all rest easy knowing that bin Laden can't hurt anyone else.

Dolly Parton Does It For The Troops

Dolly Parton Thank You

As part of her effort to thank the troops who are fighting for America at home or abroad, Dolly Parton is lending her star power to the Boot Campaign.

The Boot Campaign was started by 5 texas women known as The Boot Girls, who are urging Americans to purchase a pair of army combat boots to wear in support of our troops.

The proceeds from the campaign’s signature boots go towards military charities supporting the needs of Veterans.

Dolly expressed her appreciation to America's troops in a statement, saying:

“So many people, regular folks and celebrities, send out love and sincere thanks to you for keeping us safe and fighting for our freedom. Let me add to that loving list. Thank you from the bottom of my country heart. I will always love you.”

Dolly and the Boot Girls are asking Americans to put their boots on during their day-to-day routine to symbolically walk in the shoes of our military men and women to remember their service and sacrifice.

We think this is an awesome idea for a charity and if you do too, click here to get yourself a pair of boots!
