Kanter, who is Turkish, has been a vocal critic of Erdoğan's authoritarian regime in the country, and when he was trying to fly on Saturday morning through Romania, it appears that the President — or someone in the Turkish government — got to him.

At least, that's what Kanter thinks.

Here he is describing what happened in a video he posted to Twitter shortly after being detained, on his birthday no less, (below):

The attack took place Friday at Velvet IndieGround, a Turkish record shop that was hosting the only Radiohead album release party in the entire country. It was captured on Periscope and later uploaded to YouTube.

Fans had been listening to Radiohead's new album A Moon Shaped Pool in the store when a group of men suddenly stormed in, attacking customers and employees.

The attackers were apparently angry that people had been listening to music and consuming alcohol during Islam's holy month of Ramadan.

No one was killed in the attack, but some people sustained injuries including a bloodied head after one fan was hit in the face with a bottle.

A witness at the event, claiming to be one of the store's owners, recounted the horrifying ordeal:

Kim Kardashian BLASTS The Wall Street Journal For Running An Ad Denying The Armenian Genocide

Kim Kardashian condemns Wall Street Journal.

Kim Kardashian West, FTW!!!

The reality star may mostly be known for her style and curves, but she loves her Armenian heritage and always stands up for it.

After finding out that an ad denying the Armenian Genocide ran in the Wall Street Journal during the 101st anniversary of the massacre, Kim took to her website to write a passionate condemnation of the newspaper:

"My family and I are no strangers to BS in the press. We've learned to brush it off. Lies make good headlines, good headlines make great covers, great covers sell magazines. But when I heard about this full-page ad that ran in the Wall Street Journal denying the Armenian genocide, I couldn't just brush it off."

She continued:

"The ad was paid for by Turkic Platform. I won't list the group's website, as I don't want to give them the traffic, but basically they say that not as many people died as historians say, and that the Armenians were to blame. For the Wall Street Journal to publish something like this is reckless, upsetting and dangerous. It's one thing when a sh–ty tabloid profits from a made-up scandal, but for a trusted publication like WSJ to profit from genocide — it's shameful and unacceptable. Why is it that every time we take one step forward, we take two steps back?"

We couldn't agree more. It was shameless and irresponsible for the Wall Street Journal, and the reasoning they provided to Gawker is appalling:

"We accept a wide range of advertisements, including those with provocative viewpoints. While we review ad copy for issues of taste, the varied and divergent views expressed belong to the advertisers."

That is so interesting. Would they also run "provocative" ads denying the genocide in Darfur, the Holocaust, the Trail of Tears, slavery, and every other atrocity throughout human history?

Stay classy, WSJ! Hope that ad revenue was worth it!

MAJOR props to Kim for calling them out!
