U2's Paris Concert & Live HBO Special Probably Canceled After Terror Attacks

Filed under: Music MinuteBonoSad SadFrancophiliaViolenceScary!Viral: News

Bono's band was scheduled to play in the city on Saturday and Sunday.

UPDATE 9:40 PM EST: U2 has officially canceled their Saturday show. The band issued a statement, saying:

"As a result of the ongoing state of emergency across France, the U2 Paris concert scheduled for 14th November will not be going ahead as planned. U2 and Live Nation, along with HBO who were due to live broadcast the Saturday concert, are fully resolved to go ahead with this show at an appropriate time."

The group continued to give their condolences for all the lives lost during the attacks, adding:

"We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight. We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe"

They have not said whether or not HBO will broadcast their Sunday show, or if the concert will even happen at all.

Paris is reeling from multiple terror attacks on Friday.

Various locations in France's capital were targeted, including explosions at the Stade de France stadium during a soccer game, a tragic hostage situation at Le Bataclan concert hall where American band Eagles of Death Metal was playing, as well as several shootings.

Sadly, over 100 people have been killed.

In the wake of the horrible situation, President François Hollande shut the nation's borders and declared a state of emergency.

Reports reveal that on Saturday the city will be closing grocery stories, city hall, and other places where large crowds can gather, in case there are any follow-up incidents.

So, it makes sense that U2's Paris concert for their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour might not happen in light of the horrific events.

A source close to Bono's band told Entertainment Tonight that they "do not see how the show could happen tomorrow."

Scarlett Johansson's Hair Is Red — And We're Pretty Positive It's Not A Wig This Time! Take A Look!

Scarlett Johansson's hair is red!

Scarlett Johansson is rocking red again, but this time it's not the iconic Black Widow bob we've all come to know and love.

The actress was snapped showing up to the U2 concert looking like she had something to hide!

The 30-year-old donned a fedora and sunglasses while she and her husband, Romain Dauriac, arrived at the show in NYC, but she couldn't sneak that shade past us!

Part of her pixie cut was peeking out from under her hat, and you can clearly see her hair's hue is now bright red!

By now, we're pretty used to seeing ScarJo with ginger locks, but what do you think of the new look, Perezcious readers?

Most rock stars would love to get a chance to play with themselves in front of a screaming audience.

And U2 frontman Bono got to do just that when the band performed at the Air Canada Centre on Monday!

The iTunes infiltrators were playing a show on their Innocence + Experience tour when they invited Toronto based U2 cover band Acrobat on stage to play with them!

Looks like Kate Hudson and Derek Hough are tied in a tango!

As we reported in December, the actress and the Dancing With The Stars performer were seen kissing at a Los Angeles restaurant.

However, months went by without any mention of the photogenic twosome.

Well according to sources, the Almost Famous thespian and the dancer are not only back on… they've been secretly getting hot and heavy for a while!

On May 26, the couple were joined by sister Julianne Hough and her boyfriend Brook Laich at the U2 concert at The Forum in Inglewood, CA.

ICYMI: Bono Leaves 80-Year-Old Waitress GENEROUS Tip! Find Out How Much HERE!

How sweet! At least he gave her a hefty tip instead of a free digital copy of U2's album!

Bono totally made a waitress' day early Friday morning after his band performed at The Roxy that previous evening.

It was 3 a.m. when the U2 frontman and some of his friends walked through the doors of Canter's Deli in El Lay and he was waited on by Bella Haig, an 80-year-old waitress who had been at the restaurant for 50 years.

After they were seated, the 55-year-old basically asked the woman to serve him with whatever she felt like he should have.

Bella remembered thinking after he told her to pick an appetizer for him:

"I went to the back and I said 'this guy doesn't look Jewish, but I'm going to get him some matzah ball soup with carrots and noodles and chicken.'"

Shortly after, she recommended the Reuben sandwich, and according to onlookers, Bono also got french fries, onion rings, and a chocolate chip rugelach dessert on the house!

That definitely sounds like a late night meal/early breakfast for a rock star!

When everyone was done with their meal, the Irish musician paid the bill and gave Bella a $150 cash tip! Cash. Tip. On a bill that was less than $20!

She said of the generous move:

"Wow, I lucked out, I was thrilled. I was surprised it was that much."

The veteran waitress says she's going to use the cash to take her family out to dinner!

That huge tip is one way of showing appreciation! He must've really enjoyed the food there.

U2 Sing A Song For Someone In Honor Of Red Nose Day — Watch Their Charitable Performance HERE!

We knew Red Nose Day was a British charity, but we didn't expect all of the acts to be from across the pond!

No complaints here, though, because in addition to Ed Sheeran's uplifting duet with Kermit the Frog, U2 gave an empowering performance of their own.

Bono and Co. sang Song for Someone during NBC's fundraiser, and it was the best they've sounded live in a while!

[ Video: U2's The Edge Falls Off The Stage! ]

Their act was cut with video of struggling children from around the world… and it was just a very moving moment.

Did U take part in Red Nose Day??

Ch-ch-check out U2's charitable performance (above)!!!
