UCLA logo

For most college kids, summer is over and they are already back in an 8' X 10' dorm room preparing to party study their little butts off this semester.

However, all that partying studying may cause a few unwanted health side effects (like drinking from the same beer pong coffee cup), which have a tendency to spread like wildfire through campus so cross your fingers that your university has good health services.

In the list every student parent has been waiting for, Princeton Review has ranked America's top ten party schools schools with the best health services! El Lay's own UCLA came in first place, but did yours make the nine other spots? Find out after the jump!

Tweens Aiming For Fame Above All Else

Hannah Montana

What have kids learned from The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, iCarly, and Hannah Montana? How to be famous!

Or at least, they THINK they can all be famous.

A new study published in the Journal of Psychology Research on Cyberspace, found television shows popular with children aged 9 to 11 now hold “fame” as their No. 1 value, while it was ranked 15th in 1997.

With financial success and physical fitness following fame on children's list of attainable goals these days, researchers believe the shift in values may have a negative effect on the future goals and accomplishments of this generations youth.

Dr. Patricia Greenfield, from the Department of Psychology at UCLA and co-author of the study, said:

"(Tweens) are unrealistic about what they have to do to become famous. They may give up on actually preparing for careers and realistic goals.”

Yalda Uhls, the lead author of the study, went further to say:

"With Internet celebrities and reality TV stars everywhere, the pathway for nearly anyone to become famous, without a connection to hard work and skill, may seem easier than ever. When being famous and rich is much more important than being kind to others, what will happen to kids as they form their values and their identities?"

We hope we're not losing some of the future's brightest scientists and doctors to the lures of stardom, but it is a legitimate concern especially with shows like American Idol or America's Got Talent only increasing the average citizen's dreams of being "discovered".

Hopefully kids are looking up to their parents and teachers to learn that you don't need to be on a television screen to make a difference in the lives around you.

Lindsay Lohan Coldplay UCLA 2

Lindsay Lohan got out of the house last night to go see a Coldplay concert at UCLA.

And obviously she just went for the music and not to be seen. She tried to hide from the paps, but they were able to catch a few glimpses.

She kind of reminds us of Kurt Cobain here.

Sam Lufti Wants Brit Brit To Testify In His Defamation Lawsuit!

sam-lufti-wants-britney-spears-to-testify-in-his-defamation-lawsuit

This guy is a real piece of work. Hasn't he put this poor girl through enough?

Sam Lufti, who manipulated his way into the role of Britney Spears' manager while she was going through her issues and basically took advantage of her mental condition, has been pursuing a defamation lawsuit against her mother, Lynne Spears, for publishing just that in her memoir, Through The Storm.

Apparently, he's now trying to get the pop star on the stand to give a deposition, but her team has resisted, claiming she is mentally incapable of doing so. Therefore, on Monday, he asked a judge to have a pyschiatric evaluation of her to that the claims are not true, due to her recent lucid interviews and upcoming tour.

According to a declaration to the court by UCLA Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Joshua Retsky, who analyzed the singer's recent behavior on behalf of Lufti:

"In the Ryan Seacrest interview, which was recorded approximately two months ago, Britney Spears is interviewed at length, and she responds logically and coherently to questions, evidencing logical thinking and mental competency. The edited interviews in the [MTV] video documentary also evidence coherent and logical thinking, responsiveness to questions, and mental competence … In my opinion, there is good cause to conduct an Independent Medical Examination to investigate the Conservators' claim that Ms. Spears is not mentally capable of testifying, and the claim that she was not mentally competent to enter into a binding contract. …"

Yes, this all may be true, but that doesn't mean she should have to be thrown into a room with that man again!

It's clear that our Brit Brit has come a long way, and has made an amazing recovery from her issues thus far, but we imagine she's still got a long way to go - and there's no need to have to endure the added stress of a man who enabled her when she was at her absolute worst!

Can't he just leave her alone?! Ugh.

Absolutely deplorable!

What do U think?? Should Brit Brit be forced to testify?
