Trent Reznor Tells Fans To Boycott Re-Release Of NIN Album

In a move to stick it to the man, Trent Reznor is urging fans to boycott the re-release of his 1989 Nine Inch Nails' album Pretty Hate Machine.

Universal Music record execs are re-releasing the album without any sort of digital re-mastering to improve the sound quality of the original.

Reznor wrote:

NIN fans, don't waste your money on this version of PHM that was just released … a record label bullshit move repackaging the old version. Ignore please.

Wow, that is a pretty shady move. If they're going to re-release, Universal should at least re-master it or include never-before-heard music. Pretty awesome of Trent to go against his label and warn the fans.

Watch Out, Google! Apple Securing Deal For Streaming Music With Record Labels!

apple-securing-deal-for-streaming-music-with-record-labels

We assumed it would only be a matter of time before they jumped on this bandwagon!

A source close to Apple has revealed that the company is close to securing deals with all four major recording companies about a new music service that will reportedly allow users to stream music stored on computers to portable devices, to avoid one having to use up storage space and connect devices to transfer songs!

According to the insider, the deal - with Universal, Sony, EMI Group, and Warner Brothers - will allow for 'downloading, mobile use and streaming,' and will officially be announced at the Apple annual developers' conference on June 6th!

Uh-oh! We wonder what this will mean for the Google and Amazon cloud music plans!

Either way, it sounds like all three projects will ultimately help get us get our music faster AND easier, so we're pretty psyched!

What do U think?? Are U looking forward to more stream-based tunez??
