The effects of Paris Jackson's suicide attempt are far reaching, and she is on the minds of a lot of people on the planet right now while she recovers in a hospital in Calabasas. We've heard the world's reactions, but we haven't seen much from those close to her — without a filter of a lawyer or rep.
We're hearing now that her brother, Prince Jackson, has canceled an appearance on German TV. A close friend of Paris has also opened up on Twitter.
As a source of news, we have the responsibility to take serious situations seriously, and that includes never downplaying something as scary as a suicide attempt as just a call for attention. Some sources, however, have no problem making it seem this way.
Their proof? An anonymous source saying that cops don't think Paris Jackson wanted to die, who goes on to call her a teen who's just 'into drama.' ARE YOU KIDDING US?
We're willing to bet that it's EXTREMELY hard to be in Paris Jackson's shoes on a daily basis. Not only has your father's fame put you in the spotlight, but he's also gone. Now, you're dealing with the public eye AND all of his residual legal matters!
A normal life is pretty much off the table, and we're hearing that kids at Paris's school have NOT been helping her feel like she belongs!
Sources are saying she might've been bullied at school:
As disturbing as these reports are, we wish things were different. We're now hearing that it was NOT an argument about a concert that sent Paris Jackson spiraling in the moment to an attempted suicide, but rather a long-standing fear over having to testify in her late father's current wrongful death lawsuit.
We're also hearing that she cut herself with a meat cleaver, which is very, very sad. We want nothing more than for her to be all right.
According to a source, Paris even left a suicide note after she called a suicide hotline, and sadly cut herself. The person at the hotline deemed Paris to be a major risk, and they fortunately called 911.
Paris Jackson is in the hospital right now after having been rushed for care early this morning because of a confirmed attempted suicide. It's unclear how drastic the attempt was, but at this point it doesn't matter — we just hope she'd be getting the treatment she needs!
As far as why this has happened, we're sure a lot of you are thinking about any number of reasons from her less-than-normal life that could've sent her down this path, but most concretely we're hearing that a lot of the depression stems from the untimely death of her father (which is totally understandable).
Last night, though, the immediate problems began because of an alleged argument stemming from not being allowed to go to a Marilyn Manson concert.
Taking inspiration from Angelina Jolie, CNN's Zoraida Sambolin spoke up and announced that she too needed a mastectomy, and that she had just been diagnosed with breast cancer!
Here's what she originally announced:
"For a while I have been struggling because I was diagnosed with breast cancer about three weeks ago and I was trying to figure out how do I share this story, how do I tell the viewers that I'm going to be gone for a while, because I have chosen to have a double mastectomy. Angelina Jolie's story really hit home."
Now, after having had her mastectomy, we're getting a CNN update from Zoraida herself!
This is so fab — it sounds like she's really doing well, taking it all day-by-day! We can't even imagine having to go through this, but she's being such a badass about it!
We bet if there's one person who is TOTALLY over doctor's office visits, it's Robin Roberts!
On Wednesday, Robin had yet another appointment - but luckily, it was just a check up! It wasn't like the last time, which was due to a scare after getting sick on vacation. In fact, Robin updated all her fans and followers on Facebook about what the check up brought for her!
