Area 51 has been the stuff of legends and conspiracy theories for over 50 years.

But the United States government has never even officially confirmed that the army base/research facility/alien prison even exists!

Until now!

In a newly uncensored report entitled "Central Intelligence Agency and Overhead Reconnaissance: The U-2 and Oxcart Programs, 1954-1974" the CIA not only acknowledges the existence of Area 51- they explain all the alien ado!

The report credits the UFO sightings to

Kevin Sorbo Has Some Harsh Words For US Government & Rips On Hollywood!

It sounds like Hercules woke up on the wrong side of the bed!

Kevin Sorbo recently appeared on Fox and Friends and didn’t have anything nice to say about the U.S. Government or Hollywood.

Things began innocently enough as he hands each host a gift bag and talks about his relationship with evangelist Billy Graham. But the interview takes a nasty turn when they begin to talk about citizens on welfare.

Hercules starts by asking the hosts “What do we got, like 100 million people living off of the government now?” He goes on to say “Things aren’t going that great right now. I think that’s obvious to most people.”

Ch-ch-check out the video of Debbie Downer's Kevin's interview on Fox News (above)!

He then turns his attention onto Hollywood, referring to himself as “one of the true independent voices” in the business and claims the industry is filled with “some of the least tolerant people you’ll ever meet.”

Geez! Having a different opinion is one thing but this just sounds bitter!

U.S. Federal Government Says Marijuana Has No Accepted Medical Use

Pot

Sorry, stoners!

The federal government has ruled marijuana has no accepted medical use and should remain in the same class of drugs as heroin.

Friday's decision comes 9 years after marijuana advocacy groups petitioned the government to reclassify the drug due to the growing research for its ability to treat certain medical ailments. Unfortunately for those groups, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration doesn't exactly agree with the medical benefit marijuana has to offer.

DEA Administrator Michele M. Leonhart wrote in a letter to organizations petitioning legalization:

"At this time, the known risks of marijuana use have not been shown to be outweighed by specific benefits in well-controlled clinical trials that scientifically evaluate safety and efficacy."

Although not pleased with the ruling, pro-pot groups can at least now plea their cases by appealing to the federal courts. Joe Elford, lead attorney for Americans for Safe Access, said:

"We have foiled the government's strategy of delay, and we can now go head-to-head on the merits."

States still maintain the ability to form their own decision on the use of the drug, so don't go throwing out your medical marijuana prescription yet!

In fact, California can expect another vote on general legalization of the substance during the 2012 elections with Proposition 19.

Superman Renouncing His U.S. Citizenship Causes Backlash!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TruePolitik

backlash over superman renouncing us citizenship

A little over a week ago, Superman renounced his U.S. citizenship in DC's Action Comics #900, when he was "scolded by a member of the president's security staff for appearing at a protest in Iran, with the notion that Superman's actions reflect the positions of U.S. government as a whole."

The Man of Steel had the following to say about it at the time:

"I'm tired of having my actions construed as instruments of U.S. policy."

It was def a controversial move, and now the backlash is growing against the superhero, D.C. Comics, AND parent company Time Warner.

Boycott threats against Time Warner as a whole have begun, and apparently they're being taken seriously because DC Comics reportedly "may be rethinking the story line."

Guess Superman will have to head over to the Fortress of Solitude to think this one over. LOLz.

Do U think Superman should stick to his guns? Or would U prefer he return to his patriotic ways?

Captain America Will NOT Be Pleased, Superman Renounces U.S. Citizenship In New Comic!

superman renounces his us citizenship

Guess Superman couldn't handle the possibility of fighting crime under the leadership of Donald Trump. LOLz.

In DC's Action Comics #900, Superman renounces his U.S. citizenship when he's "scolded by a member of the president's security staff for appearing at a protest in Iran, with the notion that Superman's actions reflect the positions of U.S. government as a whole."

Here's what Superman had to say about his unpatriotic decision:

"I'm tired of having my actions construed as instruments of U.S. policy."

Here's what Hollywood publicist/GOP activist Angie Meyer had to say about Superman's super-controversial decision:

"Besides being riddled with a blatant lack of patriotism, and respect for our country, Superman's current creators are belittling the United States as a whole. By denouncing his citizenship, Superman becomes an eerie metaphor for the current economic and power status the country holds worldwide."

More from Wired blogger Scott Thill:

"Superman has always been bigger than the United States. In an age rife with immigration paranoia, it’s refreshing to see an alien refugee tell the United States that it’s as important to him as any other country on Earth — which, in turn, is as important to Superman as any other planet in the multiverse."

Hopefully this doesn't put too many people off to the character when Zack Snyder's film comes out. We're not so sure he could handle another bomb of Sucker Punch proportions…

Does Superman's newly unpatriotic attitude make you dislike him? Or does it make you like him more? Or are you indifferent?
