Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff's old possessions turned out to be a huge success at the U.S. Marshal auction on Saturday.

The big ticket item of the day was wife Ruth Madoff's 10.5 carat diamond ring that sold for $550K.

What a steal!

Another item that fetched a pretty penny were a pair of velveteen slippers with Bernie's initials embroidered on them in gold thread. They went for $6000.

The strangest purchase by far had to be 11 pairs of unused designer boxers and 200 pairs of socks, which were purchased by the same man for $1,700.

Kinda creepy, even if they are new.

At the end of the day the auction brought in over $2 million, which will benefit Madoff's victims.

The Department of Justice has decided to auction off ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff's shoes since he won't be wearing them ever again.

The auction takes place in New York City on November 13th and will include over 400 pieces of Bernie's personal property.

Profits from the event will benefit those who were defrauded by Madoff who is serving 150 years in jail.
