Driving in El Lay can be a harrowing experience! Even for a vampire like Kristen Stewart!

The actress was the responsible party in a minor car accident Friday afternoon, while out on the town visiting a friend!

And thankfully, it was only a fender bender and no one was injured…because there were a few kids in the car that she hit!

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the other vehicle exchanged her insurance information with the actress, and although there was a small amount of damage to her rear bumper, was able to pop a loose piece back into place!

Toyota is testing a new car safety system that will allow their vehicles to talk to each other and with the roads they drive on!

They're testing the new vehicles at the Intelligent Transport System site where cars get info from sensors in the road and the other cars.

It's meant to help motorists avoid running red lights, cars merging into their blind spot, and to alert them of crossing pedestrians and much more!

Chrysler is recalling over 919,000 older-model Jeeps all over the world.

The issue? The air bags could possibly inflate while people are driving!

There's a part that can fail in the air bag control computer which can lead to the front and side air bags inflating while the SUV is driving.

This has happened 215 times already!

People INSIDE the cars aren't the only worry anymore for Volvo!

The clever car makers are launching their new airbag system that actually protects pedestrians if they're struck by the vehicle!

The new system is available in the 2013 V40 model, and if you look at the pic (above), you'll see that it's under the hood. It will inflate in a few hundredths of a second to cover around a third of the windshield.

It's only launched at speeds between 12 to 31 mph.

Unfortunately there are unavoidable situations where this would need to deploy, but we'd much rather people drive cautiously than to ever need to rely on this!

The system's seven sensors are located at the front of the vehicle. They can actually detect legs — and if they detect them, everything launches automatically!

It seems author and adult film megastar Jenna Jameson was arrested Friday morning under suspicion of DUI after crashing her vehicle into a pole!

The XXX rated actress must be unharmed because she is currently in custody and waiting to be cited.

We all know not to drink and drive, but smoking and driving isn't any safer either!

This should be a no brainer, but a study published in the British Medical Journal found that marijuana nearly doubles the risk of car crashes!

The U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse says that marijuana is the most common illegal drug detected among impaired drivers, fatally injured drivers and crash victims.

So sad some people STILL think it's okay to drive impaired under the influence of ANY drug. While alcohol has shown to impair drivers' speed and reaction time, cannabis affects spatial location, so high drivers may follow cars to closely because of their inability to properly judge distance.

What's worse is that researcher Mark Asbridge noted "people under the influence of cannabis often deny feeling impaired in any way." He continued to explain:

"There clearly is a lot of misconception about the extent to which cannabis impairs performance. People just don't believe it."

Well, believe it people! After all, the reason people like smoking it so much is because it impairs them! DUH!

While pot may not harm your lungs to the extent cigarettes do, it WILL increase your chances for hurting yourself and somebody else in a car accident! PLEASE, do NOT drive high!
