Chyna Returns To Wrestling!

Chyna TNA Debut

Chyna, the former 9th wonder of the world from the WWE, has returned to the wrestling ring!

Instead of returning to WWE, where her career began in 1997, Joanie "Chyna" Laurer has gone to TNA and Vince McMahon, CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, is pissed!

The female wrestler, who held the intercontinental championship and ran with the boys of DX, stepped out of the WWE in 2001 due to personal reasons, but appeared on the rival wrestling circuit's taping last Tuesday.

Another former-WWE star, Mankind, announced her as Kurt Angle's tag-team partner at the Sacrifice, May's pay-per-view event, on Sunday, May 15th.

Sources say McMahon was considering placing Chyna in the WWE Hall of Fame, but is furious with her decision to join TNA and has dismissed the idea of recognizing a rival wrestling organization's talent.

Boo!

Although TNA can't utter the name "Chyna", since it is property of McMahon, fans erupted in applause when she appeared.

Her career has been riddled with up's and down's so far, but we have feeling the wrestling superstar is on the rise again.

WWE To Take "Wrestling" Out Of Its Name

Huh??

Vince McMahon, the chairman and chief executive of WWE, which stands for World Wrestling Entertainment, wants to take the word "Wrestling" out of its name.

Yeah, doesn't make much sense, does it?

Well, according to Vince, he wants to give the company a makeover and plans to expand its business into production, live entertainment, and branding. This means that WWE wouldn't just be about wrestling, but would become a full-fledged entertainment company.

Vince says:

"I think every brand has to re-create itself. I want everyone to look at us in a vastly different way than they have.

No one does television production better than we do, it's damn near the Olympics. We know more about live event touring than anyone in the United States."

No matter what, WWE will still have their core fans so we doubt that a change in the company's name will scare away their audience.

Maybe WWE does need a change though. According to sources, their viewership dropped by 15% in 2010 so a brand makeover could certainly help a boost in the ratings.
