Glee Gets Their Vogue On

glee-cast-september-issue-vogue-2011.jpg

Because the cast of Glee is participating in this year's Fashion's Night Out it's only appropriate that they get a nice little feature in Vogue's September issue.

The cast and show's creator Ryan Murphy dished to the mag about the fashion on the show.

Here are some HIGHlights:

Ryan Murphy on his vision for each character's individual style:

"From the beginning, I asked the costume designer to give each of these kids an archetypal identity. We didn’t want them to look like generic mall kids. Now their looks are being copied! On the show, they don’t get to wear designer clothes, except for Chris. In fact, people ask me all the time, ‘Where does he get those clothes in Ohio?’"

Chris Colfer on his fashion evolution:

"When Glee started, I had no idea who Marc Jacobs was. In no way was I a fashion person! I did all my shopping at my small-town Target. Maybe if I dressed better I wouldn’t have had such a hard time in school. Now, as Kurt, I get to wear all these amazing things, by people whose names I can’t even pronounce."

Lea Michele on Rachel Berry's style:

"I would never wear a sweater with an animal face!"

Ryan Murphy on Lea Michele developing a passion for fashion:

"When I met Lea, she was only sort of interested in clothes— but in the last two years she’s become a red-carpet star. I think what happened is Lea went to an event, and someone said, ‘Oh, you look pretty.’ It was an interesting moment for her."

We agree Ryan. Princess Lea IS a red carpet star!

Kate Moss' September Issue Revealed!

kate-moss-vogue-september-issue-2011-cover.jpg

Kate Moss' long awaited Vogue cover is here and it was definitely worth the wait!

Much to our surprise Mrs. Jamie Hince isn't wearing white on the cover, but rather a beautiful eggplant Alexander McQueen gown and she looks stunning!

We're also very pleased with Mossy's Carrie Bradshaw-inspired editorial because it could have been really cheesy, but it's the complete opposite.

The supermodel Mario Testino in dresses by Rodarte, Calvin Klein Collection, Tom Ford.

Here are some HIGHlights from Kate's interview:

On saying yes after watching My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding:

"I am so romantic about Gypsies. They’re not allowed to do anything until they get married. So they all get married really young, at sixteen. You can’t believe the dresses. They’re like blinging butterflies times ten; they can’t move down the aisle! It’s so genius. I was just watching Jamie, so cute, and I was like, these girls, they just spend their whole life waiting for that day—let’s do it!"

On prepping for the wedding:

"Let’s put it this way. If I didn’t have my friends. . . . I don’t know how people do it. I’ve had big birthday parties, and I’ve thrown parties for other people, but this is a completely different thing. It’s the Met Ball! Because you have to look at every piece of cutlery; the details are intense. And then you wake up thinking about the ballet shoes for the girls; is the satin ribbon right? I’ve gone mental. Jamie thinks I’m mad, asking, ‘Are you gonna be all right? After the wedding, I’m hoping you’ll get back to normal!’ "

On the style of the wedding:

"I wanted it to be kind of dreamy and 1920s, when everything is soft-focus. The Great Gatsby. The code name was GG for a while. That light and that kind of fun decadence. It’s rock-’n’-roll Great Gatsby!"

On her John Galliano wedding dress:

"When I put the dress on, I’m really happy. I forget about everything…I’ve lived in his dresses for years, and they just make me feel so comfortable. But it’s so much more couture, couture, couture. Oh, my God, the work that’s going into the dress!"

She sounds so in love! Congrats again, Mrs. Hince!

Deets On Mossy's Carrie Bradshaw-Inspired Vogue Spread

kate-moss-carrie-bradshaw-inspired-vogue-spread-september-issue.jpg

Anna Wintour is bringing Carrie Bradshaw's wedding gown photo shoot to life in this year's September issue.

The Sex and the City inspired spread stars the mag's cover girl and newlywed Kate Moss, who will model her own John Galliano wedding gown as well as other looks created by big name designers.

A source blabs:

"Kate is on the cover, but the wedding is the minor part of the story. Anna told about 10 designers to pick out their ideal dresses for Kate."

Not very original, but fitting nonetheless.

SJP & Kate Moss To Appear On Vogue, Again.

Filed under: MadonnaKate MossSarah Jessica ParkerVogue

sarah-jessica-parker-and-kate-moss-to-appear-on-vogue-august-september-issue-2011.jpg

Are they running out of ideas?

Anna Wintour's next two cover girls are going to be familiar faces: Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss.

The August "Age" issue cover was originally intended for Madonna, but at the last minute those plans fell through so they settled for SJP even though she appeared on the same issue in 2003.

The highly coveted September issue will feature the newly married Mossy with her cover story detailing her wedding.

We can get excited about Kate's cover and spread, but not SJP.

She was on the May issue last year, surely they could have found ANYONE more exciting than her???
