It's about damn time!
Over 20 years after her tragic death, Mexican-American music legend Selena Quintanilla will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
The Queen of Tejano Music was named in the latest list of celebs to be memorialized on the famous walkway in 2017!
On Tuesday morning, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce made the announcement, releasing the statement:
"The Walk of Fame Selection Committee is thrilled to announce our newest honorees to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Committee looked carefully at each nominee and we feel that we have selected a great group of talent that will appeal to the tastes of many fans around the world."
The late legend will be posthumously honored over two decades after she was fatally shot by the president of her fan club in a motel in 1995 at age 23.
Needless to say, Selena's family is ecstatic over the news. Suzette Quintanilla Arriaga, Selena's sister and band drummer, told the Corpus Christi Caller Times:
"Myself and my family are very excited about it. We're honoured that people are still remembering her 21 years [after her death]."
