As for the plot, Warner Brothers was originally planning on continuing their MASSIVELY successful HP franchise of films by creating a documentary about the faux author of J.K. Rowling's 2001 book, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

This was a creative idea for an adaptation as the book is essentially just a catalog of creatures that was recorded by Scamander.

But Rowling stepped in with a better idea and wrote her first screenplay for the film — she only had creative input on the previous eight Potter movies.

Forget Sharknado — Eli Roth Is In Talks To Direct The Prehistoric Shark Thriller Meg!

This weekend, Jurassic World made a killing at the box office — which officially means that movies featuring prehistoric monsters are totally IN right now!

After 20 years of being in pre-production purgatory, Warner Brothers is in talks with Eli Roth to direct a big screen adaptation of Meg, a New York Times bestseller about a giant, prehistoric shark!

The Hostel director would be a great fit for the story, which based on the description is essentially Jaws on crack. The Steve Alten novel centers around two men who join forces to subdue an ancient shark that's terrorizing California beaches.

Though instead of a Great White, they will battle a Megalodon, which are said to grow 60 feet long and are dubbed the most powerful predators in history!

Roth is likely to direct the film because he's quite the shark fanatic already. The 43-year-old is set to host Discovery Channel's Shark After Dark, and make an appearance on Shark Week where he will be swimming with — you guessed it — sharks!

We think it's safe to say for this ancient monster movie will make a big splash in theaters!
