It's Going To Get Ugly! Charlie Sheen And Chuck Lorre Allowed To Talk To The Press About Their Legal Battle!

charlie-sheen-and-chuck-lorre-allowed-to-talk-to-the-press-about-their-legal-battle

Uh-oh! Get ready, everyone!

The circus is about to begin YET again!

Justice Richard Neal, the arbitrator who is currently overseeing the $100 million legal battle between Charlie Sheen and Chuck Lorre and Warner Brothers, who fired the actor from his sitcom, Two and a Half Men, has denied their request for a broad gag order involving the case - which means that although the media will not be allowed to attend the proceedings and "sensitive and proprietary" details (like medical records and financial information) will remain private,

Warner Brothers To Digitally Alter Mike Tyson Tattoo On DVD Of The Hangover, Part 2 To Avoid Legal Trouble!

warner-brothers-to-digitally-alter-mike-tyson-tatto-in-dvd-release-of-the-hangover-part-2-to-avoid-lawsuit

Wow - this is going to crazier than those blacked out bikinis they put on Elizabeth Berkley on the TV version of Showgirls!

After tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill sued Warner Brothers over ripping off the usage the tribal face ink that he inscribed on Mike Tyson back in 2003 on Ed Helms' character in The Hangover, Part 2, the judge thankfully refused to block the movie's release.

However, in order to prevent anymore legal drama, the studio has now filed new docs asserting that the intend to go in and digitally alter the tattoo's design for the DVD release of the flick!

They claim:

"Warner Bros. does not intend to make any use of the allegedly infringing tattoo after the film ends its run in the theaters because Warner Bros. will digitally alter the film to substitute a different tattoo on Ed Helms’s face."

Wow! We imagine that is going to cost them a pretty penny!

But not as much as another potential lawsuit could have cost them, especially given their massive box office profits, so we suppose it's a win-win!

We wonder what the new design is going to look like though!

We suggest a Born This Way unicorn! LOLz!

What do U think?? Of what should Ed's new tat be?

Watch Out, Google! Apple Securing Deal For Streaming Music With Record Labels!

apple-securing-deal-for-streaming-music-with-record-labels

We assumed it would only be a matter of time before they jumped on this bandwagon!

A source close to Apple has revealed that the company is close to securing deals with all four major recording companies about a new music service that will reportedly allow users to stream music stored on computers to portable devices, to avoid one having to use up storage space and connect devices to transfer songs!

According to the insider, the deal - with Universal, Sony, EMI Group, and Warner Brothers - will allow for 'downloading, mobile use and streaming,' and will officially be announced at the Apple annual developers' conference on June 6th!

Uh-oh! We wonder what this will mean for the Google and Amazon cloud music plans!

Either way, it sounds like all three projects will ultimately help get us get our music faster AND easier, so we're pretty psyched!

What do U think?? Are U looking forward to more stream-based tunez??

Tattoo Lawsuit Could Delay The Release Of The Hangover, Part II!

mike-tyson-tattoo-lawsuit-could-delay-release-of-the-hangover-part-2

Holy shiz! We guess he has some serious legal standing!

As we reported, award-winning tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill, who is responsible for the design inked on Mike Tyson's face, recently filed a lawsuit against Warner Brothers for depicting a similar tattoo on Ed Helm's character in the upcoming Hangover, Part II, claiming that he was never asked permission for its usage.

Well, it looks like the case is moving forward, and if the judge rules in his favor, it would effectively block the much-anticipated sequel from being released!

Warner Brothers has responded to the suit in a brief to Judge Catherine D. Perry, claiming that a delay in releasing the film would incur massive costs, and asserting that Whithill charges are just a 'radical claim that he is entitled, under the Copyright Act, to control the use of a tattoo that he created on the face of another human being' and that the film's usage of the design falls under 'fair use' because Tyson and his ink are well-known in pop culture.

We're not going to lie, this case really does raise a lot of fascinating questions about intellectual property law!

But we hope that they can reach some sort of resolution - and fast!

If Warner Brothers loses this one, this movie is going to be EFFED!

What do U think?? Does Whithill have a fair argument??

George Takei Advises Warner Bros. Against 'Whitewashing' Akira Movie!

george-takei-does-not-want-akira-movie-to-be-whitewashed

Wow! We're so glad that he's taking such a serious stand!

In the film industry, it's become pretty much common practice for big-screen adaptations of popular Asian graphic novels and video games to be what's known as "whitewashed," which means the studios casting white actors in roles that are meant for other ethnicities!

The most recent example of this rumored to be the long-awaited film version of the Japanese graphic novel Akira, but thankfully, Star Trek actor George Takei has taken a stand against the practice, and has publicly asked Warner Brothers execs to re-consider before any official decisions are made!

Here are some HIGHlights from the interview on the matter:

Were you surprised to find out Warner Bros. is courting white leading men for roles in the adaptation of Akira?

George Takei: It’s not a surprise because that’s been a Hollywood tradition. For example, when I was very young, I read Pearl Buck’s epic novel of China, The Good Earth. And that film, all of the principal major roles were cast with Caucasians. As a matter of fact, Luise Rainer, who played the wife, won an Oscar for that. Paul Muni was her husband. It’s an old Hollywood tradition that we’ve always been battling, not just Hollywood but Broadway too, if you remember Miss Saigon and the furor over that. So, no, I really wasn’t surprised, but the audience has changed now, and I’m surprised Warner Bros. is not keeping up with the audience. The manga and anime phenomenon is mostly white in this country. It originated in Japan, and, of course, it has a huge Asian fan following. But it’s the multi-ethnic Americans who are fans of Akira and manga. The idea of buying the rights to do that and in fact change it seems rather pointless. If they’re going to do that, why don’t they do something original, because what they do is offend Asians, number 1; number 2, they offend the fans. The same thing happened with M. Night Shyamalan. He cast his project [The Last Airbender] with non-Asians and it’s an Asian story, and the film flopped. I should think that they would learn from that, but I guess big studios go by rote, and the tradition in Hollywood has always been to buy a project, change it completely and flop with it. I think it’s pointless, so I thought I would save Warner Bros. a bit of failure by warning them of what will most likely happen if they continue in that vein.

It seems this is particularly still a problem for Asian and Asian-American actors. Do you see something like this happening with a role written for a black actor?

Oh, absolutely not. African-Americans have made enormous advances. There are a whole host of bankable stars who are African-American. Can you name one bankable Asian-American star? No. There isn’t. You have Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson. A whole host of them. One can’t name a single Asian-American whose name you can take to the bank and get a project financed. We are making headways. I’m not a pessimist. We have made tremendous headways from the time I started in this business in 1957. Asian faces are part of the ensemble in many TV shows playing not roles that are specifically Asian, but playing doctors and detectives. Advances have been made, but we have still not caught up with the African-American achievements.

Why do you think there seems to be a reluctance to cast Asian-American actors in leading roles?

I don’t think it’s a reluctance, they just don’t know better. They have the experience of Shyamalan’s project, and I would think any savvy production company would learn from that. So I’m really baffled by the lack of learning from experience. Hollywood doesn’t like failures, and there’s a string of failures in the past. With this effort, I’m trying to warn them of what is likely to happen with this Akira project.

What would you ideally like to see happen with the Akira adaptation?

Well, ideally, they should do it properly and get Asian-American actors cast in those roles. In the adaptation they would of course be speaking in English and understandable to a popular American audience. That’s the whole point. They bought a project that is popular and enormously loved by its fans, and if they want the fan following to support the film, that’s the way you do it.

And all we have to say that is BRAVO! Well-said, sir!

We can't commend him enough for speaking up! It seems so FOOLISH that they would cast a story that's so fundamentally Asian with white actors - ESPECIALLY when it's been proven to bring about box office and critical failure, as well as displease the fans!

How can they expect to stay true to the integrity of the story?!

Hopefully Warner Bros. will see George's very valid and logical points, and they'll reconsider how they want to cast it!

Our fingers are crossed!

Charlie Sheen NOT EVER Welcome On Two And A Half Men AGAIN!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooTV NewsCharlie Sheen

charlie-sheen-not-welcome-back-at-two-and-a-half-men

Yeah - just as we thought!

Although Charlie Sheen seems to think that there's a chance that he could return to the series he essentially tossed away with his crazy, Two and a Half Men, sources close to the production of the show have claimed that it will NEVER happen!

The insider reveals:

"Absolutely false."

Futhermore, they claim that the troubled actor's antics on tour are almost him 'pleading' for his job back, and although behind the scenes his people have been making calls to Warner Brothers, they have no interest in taking him back.

Good! Maybe he's finally learned that he can't always do and say whatever he wants!

Sorry, Charlie! Actions HAVE consequences!

Charlie Sheen Thinks He's Responsible For Getting The Men Crew Paid!

Filed under: Icky Icky PooTV NewsCharlie Sheen

charlie-sheen-takes-responsibility-for-two-and-a-half-men-crew-pay

Charlie Sheen's hurricane of tiger-blooded delusion is showing no signs of slowing down, and although it's already been confirmed that the crew is being compensated for four of the cancelled episodes of Two and a Half Men, he is not only taking responsibility for allegedly making this happen on their behalf, but expects Warner Bros. to pay them for the full eight!

After claiming that four episodes is a "start" and congratulating himself for his 'efforts' "paying off," he said:

"I won't sleep until I get all eight. I don't care about me right now. I'm on a mission right now. It's an operation right now to right some terrible wrongs."

However, according to studio spokesman, Paul McGuire, Sheen's nonstop odes to drug and ego-induced instability efforts had ZERO effect on the decision to pay the crew, and simply says:

"False."

Yeah. He has no idea what's going on.

However, as much as we can't believe that we're saying this, we DO agree that the crew needs to be compensated for ALL of the missed episodes.

And if Charlie truly doesn't care about himself right now, like he's claiming, and the studio won't make the payday happen, then HE needs to pay them all - out of pocket!

But that would just be too logical, right?

Yeah. That's what we thought.
