After a colorful night out at the W.E. premiere, Madonna went back to basics while out and about in Venice on Friday.

The director was spotted boarding a boat in a a black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress with matching heels and big sunnies.

It may be a bit on the boring side, but this is classic Madonna.

Oooooo!

Madonna looked absolutely lovely at the premiere of W.E. on Thursday night.

The singer turned director opted for a custom Vionett gown with butterflies printed on it and a pair of snazzy Miu Miu cat eye sunglasses.

What really pulled this look all together was Madonna's retro-styled hair.

So so pretty!

She's arrived!

Madonna joined the cast of W.E. at the film's photocall on Thursday afternoon.

The director posed for pictures on the dock in Venice wearing a simple black dress with white collar and black heels.

Wonder what she'll wear to the premiere???

It's like 2008 all over again!

Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini and Madonna are totes going to be BFFs at the Venice International Film Festival this week.

To start thing off the Queen of Pop will screen her long awaited film W.E. on Thursday, which will be followed by a private dinner hosted by Giannini in Her Madgesty's honor.

But the fun doesn't stop there!

The next night, Madonna will be on hand to present the first ever Gucci Award for Women in Cinema, a new annual award that recognizes an outstanding artistic achievement by a woman in filmmaking.

Gucci will donate $25,000 to the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the winner's name.

Once again, Madonna was looking like a hot mess on the set of her film W.E..

The Queen of Pop was wearing her usual fedora and sweats on Sunday, but made her getup look extra fug by rolling up one leg.

Maybe she wanted to match daughter Lola who was also on set with her dad Carlos Leon and siblings Mercy James and David Banda.

Whatever the case may be, stop it!
