There is a heated discussion circulating among Americans - and the global community - concerning gun control and the place automatic weapons have in a modern society, striving (hopefully) for peaceful co-existence.

The now infamous Dark Knight Rises mass-murderer James Holmes so easily obtained his instruments of death - an AR-15 assault rifle, a Remmington 12-guage shotgun and 2 40-caliber glock handguns - LEGALLY from gun stores and purchased mass amounts of ammunition on-line.

In response to the horrific crime that took place Friday in Aurora, the lovely ladies over at The View touched upon the volatile issue of gun control - or lack thereof - in the United States.

Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Hugh Laurie, Abbie Cornish and Joel Kinnaman aren't scheduled to start shooting the RoboCop reboot until September, but producers are already teasing fans.

A viral video (above) has hit the web in the form of a mock commercial for Omnicorp — the company that creates the technology so that Alex Murphy can be turned into the world's first robotic police officer.

The fictional advertisement suggests that a futuristic New York is patrolled by flying robotic drones and giant walking guns that attacked the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. We last heard that Dr. House is playing the evil boss of the ominously-named defense company and it sounds like he's going to have quite the grip over the Big Apple by the time RoboCop is created.

Fans of the classic sci-fi franchise can't miss this one, so ch-ch-check out the first teaser for the upcoming remake!

Oh for heavens sake!

The wonderful employees of TSA recently tried to confiscate a traveler's $1245 spiked Christian Louboutin loafers because they considered them to be weapons.

Really!?

So someone with 1/4" spiked shoes will be stopped and interrogated, but other passengers carrying loaded guns, metal scissors and 7" screw drivers or wrenches are getting through security with no questions asked?

Something's not right here.

So much for better luck in 2011!

A man who was wanted by authorities on several drug trafficking and weapons charges was apprehended earlier in the week at an Ohio Chuck E. Cheese!

Deputies, working with U.S. marshals, discovered Kippy Hall in the bathroom of the children's restaurant, and he is now being held in the Clark County Jail!

Well, at least no one was shot or abducted this time!

Maybe their luck is turning around! Yeah, right!

Earlier in the week, we heard that the gun belonging to Harold Smith, a suspect who committed suicide, did not match the gun wounds found on Ronni Chasen's body.

Now, according to ballistics tests on Smith's weapons, it appears that there IS a match to the bullets recovered from Chasen's body.

It's looking like Harold Smith may be the murderer, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.

…Well, at least one does!

Yesterday, a massive swarm of 2,600 police and army operatives seized 11 tons of marijuana and a "small arsenal" of weapons from a Brazilian drug gang.

They also found an oversized Justin Bieber mural.

Pezao, who is known as "one of the area's top traffickers," is apparently also a serious Justin Bieber enthusiast!

If this drug lord ends up behind bars, we wonder if they'll let him bring his prized mural of the Biebs with him.
