We've all been there before. Either the power went off, or the alarm on your phone was set on silent, or you accidentally hit "OK" instead of "Snooze" on your iPhone's clock app after hearing those haunting early morning marimba tones.
Well, now Al Roker can join the exclusive club of people who have overslept work!
After the drowsy weatherman slept through his 6 am early morning show, Wake Up With Al, which could also be the name of a reality dating competition, Al — or as Matt Lauer calls him, "Rip Van Roker" — sent out this apologetic tweet:
After 39 years, it happened. I overslept and missed a show. Missed #WUWA. But will be on time for @today
So the Weather Channel is understandably pumped about Tornado Week — a week of everything tornados for the channel and their website. We get it, it's like Shark Week but for weather! LOLz!
Well, to celebrate and promote it, some evil genius came up with a fantastic idea: they're recreating a Twitter powered Tornado in their office, claiming the interns were so excited that they HAD to do it… and sat them right in the middle of the wind blasts!
The best part? YOU are in control of the wind! Every public mention of #TornadoWeek on Twitter raises the scale and boosts the winds and you can tweet at the interns by sending messages to @TornadoWeek as they try and survive! If they hit 1,000,000 mentions… well, let's just say that they'll start a full blown EF-5 tornado inside the Weather Channel offices!
BEST IDEA EVER!!
Watch the live feed (above) and go nuts on Twitter to see it all happen in real time!! HA!!
Although the 36-year-old celebrated her birthday privately over the weekend, she did make several public appearances this week: once getting froyo with Jonathan Cheban on Monday, followed by two trips to Kanye West's performances at The Forum both Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
