Constipated in Australia? Grab a glass of wine!
The Australian government has recently approved the use of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in wine, a chemical usually used for its laxative properties.
Why on earth would you want a known laxative in your wine?
Apparently, food scientists have discovered that it can be used to stabilize and thicken beverages and foods in small doses. More specifically for winemakers, it can prevent crystallization and cloudiness in white and sparkling varieties.

Die hard Dave Matthews fans should be happy to hear they'll soon be able to do more than just listen to his work, they can taste it too!
The Dave Matthews Band frontman teamed up with a California vineyard to release a collection of high-quality wine, available later this month.
The Dreaming Tree, named after the band's 1998 song of the same name, will be available later this month. Matthews teamed up with winemaker Steve Reeder to produce the line, who says:

The famous French sommelier Christian Vanneque just purchased the most expensive white wine in the world. The bottle of 1811 Chateau d'Yquem was sold for £7,500 or $117,000.
He said, "For sure, it's the most expensive bottle I've ever bought." Um, yeah! And hopefully it's the tastiest!
He doesn't plan to ever sell or drink it though.
"It will be featured and displayed in a bulletproof showcase, like a painting, so people can see it easily. This showcase will be temperature- and humidity-controlled. It’ll be a mini-Fort Knox, impossible to open."
