The most famous writer of all time turns 450 today!

William Shakespeare is lonnnngggg gone, but four and a half centuries later his stories are still oh so cherished.

Michael Fassbender Bequeaths Us His Fabulous Shakespearean Fassboner On The SeXXXy Set Of Macbeth!

michael fassbender macbeth england set bleeding head sexy

To be or not to be, that is the question!

OK, to be fair, it's the question from one of William Shakespeare's different masterpieces, but who remembers anything about Macbeth anyway except for those witches brewing up a pot of toil and trouble?

Anyway, Michael Fassbender plays the titular lead in a new incarnation of the classic stage production - he's an ambitious Scottish general and there's a bunch of tragedy and stuff, LOLz!!

More to the point, cameras caught the charming actor on set in Surrey, England over the weekend - Mike looked hotter than a volcano and was twice as red, too!

That's because the dude had blood flowing out of a gaping gash on his forehead!! OUCH!

Hopefully that's makeup for his character, though, and not Fassypant's real blood!

Of course, were he really hurt, we would be more than willing to be his bedside nurse. Well, at least if Marion Cotillard, a.k.a. Lady Macbeth, doesn't mind!

Macbeth hits theaters in 2015 - see more pics of Fassbender and his fab Fassboner (below)!

Michael Fassbender To Go Insane For MacBeth!

michael fassbender macbeth

Michael Fassbender is set to get Shakespearean!

The babe that brought us Shame will be stretching his very large acting muscle once again as mad power hungry general in the film adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Is anyone else thinking about how seXXXy he'll look in uniform??!

The flick will include at least one other Hollywood heavyweight who has yet to be cast and is to be produced by the same crew who won the Oscar for The King's Speech.

The play has been brought to the big screen multiple times, but what is REALLY crazy about this version is it will be shot in its original Scottish language!

While that most likely just means a heavy accent, it'll definitely be a challenge…especially for this German!

But besides the language obstacle, such a complex and iconic character is quite the undertaking…

Do YOU think Michael is right for the legendary role??!

2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony Inspired By The Tempest

Olympic london games

First we heard Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Sir Mick Jagger, and John Lydon from the Sex Pistols were teaming up to perform at the 2012 London Olympic games, which was exciting enough, but this just keeps getting better and better!

Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is serving as the ceremony's artistic director and revealed that the show has been inspired by William Shakespeare's The Tempest!

Boyle described the show's narrative as the recovery of land that has been poisoned by industrial legacy. The ceremony will commence with the ringing of a specially commissioned bell inscribed with a line from The Tempest: "Be not afeard; the isle is full of noises."

The "Isle of Wonders" themed live production on July 27th will last longer than 3 hours and also features the creative talents of director Stephen Daldry.

This is shaping up to be a pretty extravagant start to the Olympic games! Are U excited or what?

Surprise! Joss Whedon Takes On Shakespeare!

Check this out!

We were all under the seemingly well-informed notion that for the last couple of months, Joss Whedon has had nothing on his plate that didn't invovled assembling The Avengers. However, it turns out that not only has he NOT been working on the Marvel flick for the last several weeks, he's actually been working on an entirely different project completely in secret. No one knew a thing about it … until now!

Over the weekend, Joss and some of the stars of his secret flick tweeted out that production had wrapped on Whedon's adaption of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. The flick has many familiar Whedonverse stars attached to it, including Ashley Jenson, Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof and Nathan Fillion and we're hearing from sources close to the man himself that Joss wrote and directed the piece. A website for the movie even popped up late last night!

Very sneaky sis Joss!

Still, we're thrilled to see it! Not as much as The Avengers, but we think you understand.

Wonder what this will be like?!

From Gossip Girl To Shakespeare! Ed Westwick Joins New Romeo & Juliet Movie!

ed westwick joins romeo and juliet as tybalt

Look at you maturing as an actor, Mr. Westwick!

Back in January, we heard that Gossip Girl & S. Darko star Ed Westwick had signed on for a role in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar. Now, he's getting his Shakespeare on in Romeo & Juliet!

As we already know, True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld will play Juliet, and now Westwick has been cast as Tybalt in Carlo Carlie's adaptation of Shakespeare's immortal tale.

We've also learned that Holly Hunter has been cast as The Nurse, but still no word on who will play Romeo this time around.

We suppose Leonardo DiCaprio is a bit too old for the part now, huh? LOLz.

How do U feel about the cast of Romeo & Juliet so far? Do U think Ed Westwick will be able to hold his own doing Shakespeare?
