Back in March, we were impressed to hear how committed Jennifer Hudson was to her lead role in Winnie, a biopic about Nelson Mandela's wife.

Now, we're not so sure how we feel about the potential Oscar candidate, after hearing what the real Winnie Mandela had to say about the project (above).

The film does NOT have her blessing, and she claims she wasn't consulted about it.

This definitely puts a poor taste in our mouth about the whole thing.

Talk about method acting.

When Jennifer Hudson committed to starring in the lead role in Winnie, the story of Nelson Mandela's wife, she really committed to it.

While discussing the role in a recent interview, Jennifer reveals that she actually opted to confine herself in a prison cell for several days in an attempt to “experience some of the hell that woman went through.” She explains further:

“They snatched her out of her home and she had no idea what happened to her children. Imagine living that? This was her life! This was real. As a woman, I am angry for her, hurting for her. And as a mom? God, being in solitary confinement, away from my son just for five days when shooting those scenes—it was too much for me. I was drained and stripped down. I was changed.”

Wow. Incredible. Such commitment to the craft. We're really impressed.

Should we assume there is another Oscar in her future? Maybe!

Another sneaky nuptial!

Terrence Howard and his girlfriend Michelle Ghent-Howard were married this past January!

A source claims:

"Terrence is so in love with her and she's a great, down-to-earth girl who really understands and loves him for him. He feels so lucky."

Apparently, he couldn't contain his excitement while promoting his film Winnie in Cannes, and slipped the news to the Silver Fox when he said:

"To come here and be with my wife, it's the best feeling in the world."

Wow! Congrats on the marriage, Terrence!

And for keeping it on the DL for so long. We are impressed!

Rather, Winnie Mandela isn't happy there is a movie being made about her without her backing!

Several months ago, it was announced that Jennifer Hudson would be playing the wife of South African icon and leader, Nelson Mandela, in a flick titled Winnie. Since that news broke, the real Winnie Mandela has come forward, saying that she wants production to halt on the project as she isn't too thrilled about how she is being "characterized."

You would think that her opinion would matter to the director. You would be wrong.

Darrell Roodt is at the helm of the film and he admits to not shying away from "controversies" and adding that the film is "not for Winnie Mandela, it’s about Winnie Mandela."

Cold! True, but cold!

Maybe a stellar performance from J-Hud will change her mind! Better bring it, girl!
