We hope your publicist has got their game face on, Tony! Some serious damage control is imminent after these comments.
Yesterday, Tony Bennett appeared on the Howard Stern Show to discuss his new album Duets II, but the conversation ended up heading into a more controversial direction.
Here's what Tony had to say about 9/11, when the subject of the World Trade Center attacks came up:

We couldn't think of a more appropriate tribute to those who lost their lives so tragically ten years ago.
Please watch Paul Simon, of Simon & Garfunkel, perform a heartwrenching and somber acoustic performance of the classic Sound of Silence at Ground Zero today, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center (above).
Powerful. Moving. And undeniably beautiful.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who lost a loved one that day.
May they R.I.P. and always be remembered.

"Although we can never un-see what happened here, we can also see that children who lost their parents have grown into young adults, grandchildren have been born and good works and public service have taken root to honor those we loved and lost."
- Mayor Michael Bloomberg, National September 11th Memorial ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the attacks at the World Trade Center, Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in New York.
The names of all 2,983 victims of the attacks in New York City, the Pentagon, and Pennsylvania have been etched in bronze into black stone surrounding two reflecting pools in the footprints of the Twin Towers.
May they never be forgotten.

Every time we watch something about this… Every time we listen to something about this…
With just a few days to go before the tenth anniversary of the tragic September 11 attacks, new tapes have been released chronicling the military's reactions to 9/11 as well as air traffic control as they track the hijacked planes.
A bit of the black box audio from one of the planes is heard as well, including an order given by one of the hijackers.
Watch the video (above) to hear the chilling yet historical tapes URself.

We imagine this is going to be an extremely emotional, powerful moment for most Americans.
In the wake of Osama bin Laden's death early Monday, President Barack Obama will be visiting Ground Zero in lower Manhattan this Thursday, May 5th, to meet with the families of those the terrorist killed in the 9/11 attacks on the Twin Towers and Pentagon.
Hopefully this will serve as a comfort to all of those who have been living with the weight of that man's horrific acts on their shoulders for so many years.
We sincerely hope that this victory for the country will give them some peace of mind.

Jeopardy wiz kid Thomas Horn has been cast as the lead in director Stephen Daldry's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, based on Jonathan Safran Foer's novel.
Horn will star alongside Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock, who will play the kid's parents.
As we reported back in August, the story revolves around an intellectual, nine-year old tambourine playing kid who searches for a lock to match a mysterious key that his father left behind after his death in the World Trade Center on September 11.
Should be inneresting to see how the kid does. If he's half as good at acting as he is at Jeopardy, we should be in for a great performance!

An anonymous person donated $10,000 in cash to a 9/11 donation box at the World Trade Center Tuesday night.
Joe Daniels, president of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum said the money must have been slipped in sometime between 5p.m. and 7p.m. Tuesday evening.
There were 99 $100 bills and five 20s all very crisp, looking like they were just withdrawn from a bank.
Officials would love to know who this generous person is so they can thank them.
Wow, a mysterious good deed done!
