Aww dayum!

Yellowstone National Park does NOT allow wolf hunting on its grounds, but unfortunately, when a wolf strays from the park's premises, hunting is all fair game.

"The Most Famous Wolf in the World," which belonged to the Lamar Canyon pack, stepped outside of Yellowstone's floors recently and was legally SHOT DOWN by a hunter.

Wildlife photographer, John Hayes gives out 4-1-1 on the notorious animal, he wrote:

The visitor was hiking with his wife along the Wapiti Lake trail when he surprised a female grizzly bear with her cubs, the park service said. The bear attacked and fatally wounded the man in an attempt to defend her cubs.

A group of nearby hikers called police after they heard the victim's wife crying for help.

The superintendent of Yellowstone National Park said:

"It is extremely unfortunate that this couple's trip into the Yellowstone backcountry has ended in tragedy. Our heart goes out to the family and friends of the victim as they work to cope with their loss."

We share this sentiment.

This is the first bear-caused human fatality in Yellowstone since 1986, Nash said. Bear attacks are extremely rare.

This does not sound right, however it happens to be the case up in Yellowstone.

Mark Bruscino, supervisor of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department bear management program has said that he now supports hunting of grizzly bears since the population in the Yellowstone National Park area has reached its highest level in decades.

There are over 600 grizzlies roaming the Yellowstone area of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

Bruscino says that he supports the hunting of these bears in order to manage the population.

Aww, poor grizzlies!

While driving down a road in Yellowstone National Park, Alex Wypyzinski saw something surprising.

At first he heard a loud noise, and saw two brown blurs darting around. As they got closer, he saw a bear chasing a bison!

So sad!

This past Tuesday, two grizzly bear cubs and their mother were caught raiding a chicken coop on a farm in Montana. After the cubs were examined at a Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks lab in Bozeman on Wednesday, biologists said the cubs were 15 to 40 pounds underweight while the mother was considered to be in "fair" condition.

The dilemma was if the wildlife department should relocate the family or just kill the cubs.

If they were to relocate the bears, they would struggle to survive the fall, and most surely die during the winter, but if they were to kill the cubs, they would have to deal with the likely outcry from the public.

Ultimately, the wildlife department decided to relocate the bears to Yellowstone National Park today. The mother has been fitted with a radio collar to be monitored. If she survives this fall and dens, officials won't know if her cubs lived or died until next spring.

As hard a decision as it was, we support it! The cubs should be allowed the chance to survive! We shouldn't intervene and end their lives.

Nature has a way of surviving under the most amazing circumstances.

Hopefully next year we'll hear the news that the cubs survived and are healthy!
