Despite the company's healthy promises of the drink being a natural alternative to sugary sports drinks, a new study has found the amount of electrolytes in Vita Coco was between 35%-82% lower than its nutrition label suggests!
Although the beverages sugar and potassium count was accurate, researchers found Vita Coco was seriously lacking in two nutrients responsible for rehydration!
Sodium was 82% lower than the label suggested, while magnesium was 35% lower!
"When something like this becomes wildly popular, people have a tendency to look at the claims rather than reality. If you're working out and sweating a lot, this isn't going to do the trick."
