The Muppets may not be getting the best reviews for their ABC show, but they're certainly still trying to stay fresh with their commercials!

That's right, cafés filled with feline friends are gaining popularity in Tokyo.
The trend started 5 years ago with a café called Neko no Mise claiming to be the first to combine coffee and cats, but now more than 100 shops can be found in Japan.
Although it sounds like a crazy cat ladies dream hangout, the clientele is mostly made up of young couples or singles in their twenties or thirties.
Sounds…kind of weird, but we can understand why cat lovers might flock to these shops, especially if they can't have a cat at home.
One guest says it best:
"Cat cafés make me feel nostalgic, because I had cats in my childhood. My hobby is photography, I think the cat is one of the best subjects."
Cat's lounge around the café in baskets or on chairs with some visitors documenting their growth through online blogs or photography, but vistors can not pick up or disturb the cats in the shop.
Not everyone is a fan of the concept. One reluctant guest notes:
"My sister wanted to go there so bad, she took me there. It was … well, weird I thought. People just hanging out there with the cats but you're not allowed to wake them up or pick them up, they were just watching the cats and smiling and stuff … it was a little scary."
We can't help but think of the health risks associated with a bunch of cats running around a place where they serve food.
On the other hand, if someone goes to a "cat café" for a bite to eat, hopefully they have already accepted the risk of cat hair showing up in their food.
What do U think? Will we be seeing this trend pop up in the U.S. anytime soon?
