Just another reason we LOVE this woman!
Ellen DeGeneres, and Halo Pet Foods, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Service, The Humane Society of the U.S., Freekibble and others, have donated one million meals to shelter pets all over the country.
The talk show host pledged to feed pets awaiting adoption last March, but her campaign officially launched in April after the Postal Service released a social awareness stamp.
Ellen said in statement when the campaign began:
"Imagine, an animal in a shelter, in a cage, lonely —a good meal is all they have to look forward to — until you adopt them!"
Ellen and Halo's efforts reached over 100 shelters across the country!
Halo's CEO Steve Marton said in a press release:
"We are thrilled with the success of the campaign and the incredible number of supporters who helped us to achieve this goal. It's our mission to make a real difference for pets."
Thanks for making a difference in the lives of animals who aren't lucky enough to have a home just yet.
We're hoping for their quick adoption this holiday season!
