In response to GoDaddy.com's "Scummiest CEO of the Year" Bob Parsons elephant murder, competitor Namecheap has donated $20,433 to conservation group Save The Elephants.
The company offered to donate $1 for every customer who opened a new account with them after the video of Parsons' elephant hunt emerged and announced their total funds raised thus far on Twitter this past Tuesday.
Save The Elephants did not solicit the donation and was actually surprised, but is very grateful.
The founder of the organization, Iain Douglas-Hamilton, said:
"It's a very sad, tragic thing when elephants have to be shot. I find the glorification totally out of place."
Right on! We think Mr. Parsons may have just felt he had to kill a large animal to compensate for his small…qualities. Ha!
Namecheap say they were disturbed by the video and decided to throw "support behind our elephant friends".
Let's hope that elephant Parson's killed did not die in vain and Namecheap's generous donation saves countless more!
