So, so tragic.
A K-9 dog in New Castle, Pennsylvania died earlier this week after being left in a police car and died from heat stroke.
6-year-old Chico (above) was left in the back of the police cruiser for what some sources say was around 4 hours. He was found unresponsive and was rushed to a vet where he later died.
Investigators are currently probing the death of the dog and are reviewing a security video, which shows how long he was left in the car.
Chico's handler is currently on unpaid leave.
This is a terrible story and we really hope that investigators get to the bottom of the story and find out why Chico was left in the car in the first place.
This is just a reminder that animals should NOT be left in cars unattended, especially during the upcoming hot summer months.
