Red tape is holding back the animals!
One public official, Mark Pritchard, claims ministers tried to bribe him with if he dropped motion calling for a ban.
In debate in parliament yesterday, Pritchard described the government's behaviour as "mysterious", and said he had initially been offered a "pretty trivial job" if he agreed to drop or amend the Commons motion calling for a ban. Even got a call from the Prime Minister's office asking him to back off!!!
The was no lasting decision made in court today.
Some circuses in England keep wild animals including tigers, zebras and camels. The RSPCA estimates 46 animals in total are kept for circus performance in the UK.
The circus industry has welcomed the government's caution and says that feel cases of mistreatment are very rare.
