When a man was pulled over on a Georgia highway he refused to let police search his vehicle.
Because it was full of SNAKES!
A spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said:
"[The man] had 10 snakes and three different lizard species in the vehicle."
After he told the police why they couldn't search his car the cops contacted the Georgia DNR.
The DNR rep also said:
"The snakes were non-venomous. Species included corn, coachwhip, pine, king and Southern hognose snakes – all native to Georgia – plus a rosy boa, a non-native snake. Mr. Mesa said he caught the snakes in Florida and was taking them to Indiana."
The man was charged with one count of misdemeanor illegal possession of non-game wildlife without a permit.
We guess it's better that he told them and refused the search than him letting the snakes explode out of his trunk and ensnare the officers while he made his getaway. LOLz!
