Helping out however you can, even on the biggest day of your life! Such a good motto to live by!
When Amy Smart first carpenter Carter Oosterhouse, it was at an environmental charity benefit in November 2010. Naturally, when the couple tied the knot just a few weeks ago, it was important for their nuptials to be as eco-friendly as possible. And they sooo succeded.
“Our wedding was very green. We had 220 people there and only one bag of trash, not even a full bag. We recycled everything, we composted everything.”
Impressive! We can't even imagine how you pulled that off!
But their green life doesn't stop there! The newlyweds also have a very environment friendly home, with Amy explaining:
“For my house, I had (the solar paneling company) come and… try and put them on my roof. From the mountains and the location, they said I wouldn’t be able to benefit from it and it would be so expensive because I get so much shade at some points. So yeah, if we can, we will definitely try to put solar on (the new house).”
Amazing! Such good habits to have in place!
Course, it also helps to have the money to be able to do such things. But its nice to see them using their wealth to better the planet.
