Declawing A Cat In Israel Will Land You In Jail!

The country just passed a law that bans the declawing of cats.

If convicted of declawing, a person could face up to a year in prison and a $20,000 fine!!

That's crazy!

When a cat is declawed (like 25% of American cats are) the entire toe joint, including the bone, is amputated.

That's like having your fingers tips cut off at the third knuckle.

Seriously.

Cats use this part of their paws for walking and general defense, and can cause medical complications, so Israel hopes the measure will protect cats.

Guess they don't care much about the well being of couches and curtains.

Though we had no idea the severity of what "declawing" actually entailed.

Poor kitties. Maybe Israel has the right idea.

Insane fines but their hearts are in the right place.
