After we posted about The Real Housewives of New York City star Cindy Barshop's salon offering real fox fur merkins, we later mentioned that, after lots of backlash, she had switched to using faux fur.
When she announced the change, she said:
"I respect and value your opinion and was moved by your determination in what you believe in.
I have every intention to fix this by re-introducing the Foxy Bikini with Faux Fur. Lots of love and positive energy to you and your cause."
Not only are concerned citizens everywhere pleased, the heavy hitting and highly anti-fur organization, PETA was pleased.
In response to her decision, PETA said:
"PETA is delighted that Cindy Barshop has decided to switch to faux fur for her line of merkins. Kind women know that it's always best to "fake it"—when it comes to fur, that is—whether you wear it above the belt or below."
So now everyone is happy!
If you're thinking fur, make it fake for the animal's sake.
