When it comes to everything PETA does for animals, there is nothing more amazing than the direct help they provide to animals with their animal rescue vans.
During Hurricane Irene, PETA played an integral role in saving the lives of dogs that were just abandoned by their owners, left to face the 70 mph winds by themselves, in their outdoor crates.
Even during non-emergency times, the vans are used to transport doghouses to needy backyard dogs in the Virginia area, and transporting animals for PETA's free spay/neuter and veterinary services for low-income families.
They need to raise $25,000 for a new animal rescue van.
They're almost half-way to their goal so if you care about animals, even a small donation will help!
