Perth Zoo Has Two New Healthy Baby Red Pandas

The Perth Zoo in Australia has two brand new guests… cute baby red pandas!!

The babies recently made their first public appearance while vets were giving them check-ups and vaccinations.

One of the vets said:

"Red Pandas are susceptible to diseases similar to those seen in cats and dogs so it is important that they are vaccinated.

We have confirmed today that we have a male and a female and that they each weigh around 700 grams which is a healthy weight for their age.

They are suckling well and will start to wean over the next two to three months."

Red pandas are endangered so breeding programs like this are very important.

Perth Zoo has bred 16 Nepalese Red Pandas since 1997.

But we think these guys are the cutest!
