Carrie Ann Inaba, DWTS judge, has taken her love for animals from going vegetarian to starting a new web show intended to increase shelter cat adoption rates.
The show is called Crib Cats and it will feature adoptable shelter cats who will be handpicked by Inaba who is trying to get as many cats out of shelters and into loving homes as possible.
Ever since the death of her cat, Shadow, she has been on a mission to save as many cats as possible.
"His passing was a catalyst. He was my best friend and had been through so much with me.
After losing him, it made me realize that it’s time to get involved."
She takes rescuing cats very seriously. She's even tried to foster cats on several occasions.
We say "tried" because she wasn't very good at just fostering them… she ended up adopting every single cat she fostered!!
They now have six kitties (Squeaker, Taz, Zeus, Mia, Bubble and Miley) and an eight-year-old dog named Cookie.
She is now dedicating a part of her life to pet adoption because pet rescue has:
"[…] made the biggest difference in my life. I go to bed crying sometimes, because you can’t save them all, but it’s also so uplifting because you can go to bed knowing you did something. We try, and I feel good about that."
We say it all the time but it's just so good to know that there are people like this in the world, fighting for the animals that someone else didn't want.
