Dairy Cows Suffer Extreme Pain From Dehorning

| Filed under: PETAAnimal RightsAnimal CrueltyCowFarm

The next time you buy milk at the grocery store, you might feel differently after you learn about a cow's pain.

Dehorning is the very painful process of removing the cartiliginous tissue from cows' heads. The rationale behind this process is safety, but we think the cows would beg to differ.

Check out the video (above) from PETA to see some of the gruesome procedures done on dairy cows.

The horns are cauterized or cut off WITHOUT anesthesia when the calves are just three to four weeks old. Some calves could even be traumatized for life.

The government does not regulate dehorning so a majority of farmers do what they want.

All of this pain could easily be avoided!
