Bob Barker is not too thrilled about how the military goes about training its medics.
A Navy veteran, Barker is a staunch supporter of the armed forces, but after PETA's exposé on the training practices of soldiers and mutilated goats, the former Price is Right host is taking action.
Barker has written two seperate letters for Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano.
He asks the Secretaries to change the military's training to using modern, human like structures instead of goats.
In an excerpt from the letters, Barker writes:
My own experience in the Navy left me with a strong belief that the brave Marines, sailors, Air Force members, and soldiers who risk their lives to protect our country deserve the best possible medical care, so this is not an issue that I approach lightly.
I hope you will … take steps to replace the armed forces' use of animals for trauma training with 21st century simulation technology.
The men and women who protect our country deserve the best training available.
Well said, Bob!
