Ellen DeGeneres is all about vegan power but it's still hard for her to stay the course.
The talk show host first tried giving up animal products 15 years ago, but that stint only lasted six months.
But after watching horrific videos of undercover investigations by the meat industry and reading books on the subject, Ellen is vegan strong!
She says the following about staying vegan:
I've always called myself an animal lover. And yet I ate them. Until four years ago I would be driving past these cows on pastures, and think 'What a lovely life that is,' and I'd go and order a steak.
It takes a click, just one light bulb, and you're like 'I can't do that anymore.'
And personal chef Roberto Martin is helping Ellen and wife Portia De Rossi stack on track!
Martin says the key to making the switch is to get creative with meal preparation.
Adding veggies and stir-frying or sauteing helps keep the vegan mind (and stomach) happy.
