As the summer months inch closer, vacation time is just around the corner.
So how do you pack up your pooch to make sure he or she enjoys the fun as much as you?
Luckily, the American Kennel Club is here to help with the following tips!
A happy stomach equals a happy dog!
Bringing your pup's food and water from home will help him or her adjust to the new environment. This familarity will bring less stress for the dog.
Crates are pretty much a necessity for your pooch. Whether flying or driving, it is important to bring your own crate instead of renting one.
Again, familiarity is the key.
Comfort from Home:
Taking your dog's favorite toy and blanky will help your dog feel comfortable.
Don't overload the pup will all the toys as one or two should be fine.
Most importantly, make sure your dog is identified and microchipped as you lose track of him or her.
The dog's ID should have your cell number and enrolling your canine into a recovery program does wonders well.
Safe travels, everyone!
