Wow…looks like some people still have
fish beef with Paul Watson.
While in Frankfurt, (HOT DOG!) the Whale Wars star was detained due to an international arrest request issued by Costa Rica.
This would be strange alone…except the order was for an incident that happen TEN YEARS AGO!
Costa Rican authorities claimed that Watson and his crew aboard the Sea Shepherd endangered a Costa Rican fishing vessel in 2002.
Watson defended his actions, stating the following after his release:
I had to take action with my crew a decade ago to protect hundreds of sharks, and of course, those shark poachers have very powerful allies in government and other places.
It's very strange that this so-called extradition thing was dismissed by Interpol in every country except Germany.
Watson stayed in a Frankfurt jail (HOT DOG JAIL!) for a week and gained support from his friends, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, who urged fans to learn more about Watson's case.
Watson hopes his arrest and publicity will raise awareness on ocean conservation.
