A foie gras ban is looming on the California horizon.
Foie gras, fatty duck liver, is a cruel delicacy, considered delicious by some and disgusting by us — and many other Californians as well.
The people who don't care about animals and love foie gras are now rushing to eat as much as possible before the July 1st ban goes into effect.
The price of foie gras is skyrocketing now.
A member of the Humane Society, who helped make the ban happen, said:
"High-end foodies and chefs stuffing down their throats excessive amounts of fatty liver from force-fed ducks in the run-up to the ban paint a pretty ironic picture."
All we know is the less foie gras there is, the less animal suffering there is, and that's fine by us.
