Researchers in the Pacific Northwest have discovered 20 dead sea lions in the past two months, with most of them suffering from gunshot wounds.
They believe that the sea lion deaths are due to salmon fishers and their frustration over the competition. However, the 20 dead sea lions is about four times the norm during the begging of fishing season.
But the state governments aren't helping the issue.
The California and Stellar sea lions are protected by federal law but officials target the creatures near the Bonneville Dam.
The sea lions are captured and euthanized by lethal injection if they eat too much.
Killed for eating too much? Imagine if they did that to people!
