New Jersey wants to protect not only its drivers but also its drivers' dogs and cats. A new law has banned favorite doggie pastimes like hanging out the window or sitting in Mommy or Daddy's lap.
Lawmakers are requiring all pets to be fastened in some sort of way. The ruling was created when the American Automotive Association (AAA) performed a survey, finding out that 31 percent of New Jersey drivers admitted to being distracted by their pooch or kitty.
Many New Jerseyans, however, feel that the law is super ridick.
Many drivers complain that the law is overreaching, trying to police something that isn't an issue.
The Motor Vehicle Commission thinks otherwise. Spokesperson Elyse Coffey says the following:
I hate to sound like we’re picking on dogs, but that’s normally the animal we’re talking about.
We’re not talking about dogs who will lay down nicely on the back seat. We’re talking about cute lap dogs that sit on your lap and look like they are literally driving the car – or other dogs who hang so far out the window they could leap
Thoughts? Do U think this is a good idea?
